"We were in Maine for a girls trip of 60 something lifelong friends and I booked Sean & Carra's place in Southwest Harbor. They are probably the best Airbnb hosts that I've ever had, and I've stayed in a lot of Airbnbs. The house was perfect and had everything you could possibly want or need. Sean & Carra responded to every need immediately. The area is beautiful and very near Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. I'd recommend this home to anyone." Leslie, October 2025
"We highly recommend this place for making memories. As my son said, this was our best family vacation for 6 adults and our 2 grand kids - and we travel a lot. This home had so many extras, including: we used the firewood to make nightly fires and saw deer in the backwoods. Our grandson thought the backyard was his playground with plenty of room to play outdoor games, rock on a double rocker, and enjoy the solar outdoor lights at night. It was relaxing at the home, plus bikes and kayaks included if you wanted to explore Acadia more actively. The king-size beds in every bedroom were so comfortable. And the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. We enjoyed meals on the large outdoor table. There were plenty of towels and more for a large family...so many special extras." "Sean and Carra's home was cozy and comfortable, well stocked with necessities and all basic amenities present. The home was laid out so well, utilizing the space nicely to allow different private space for all in our party. The backyard space was excellent with fun activities and fire pit while also being so peaceful. The home was nicely decorated (love the use of lobster traps and boats) and great personal touches. Check in and check out were smooth. Sean and Carra were so responsive and provided a ton of local recommendations, some that proved to be previously unknown and turned out to be real favorites of our group. Southwest Harbor was in and of itself a wonderful little town and also so well situated for easy access to Acadia trails and attractions and Bar Harbor. We truly loved our week there." - Sara, July 2025
"Sean and Carra were amazing hosts. The house was super clean and so well stocked. They really thought of everything. Extra towels and blankets, a fully equipped kitchen, even a first aid kit. I loved that they used Seventh Generation cleaning products with no toxic smells, just fresh and natural. The outdoor space was beautiful. There was a huge patio and a peaceful wooded backyard where we saw wildlife throughout the day, It felt private and relaxing, but it was also really centrally located and easy to get everywhere. They also shared tons of great local tips that made exploring the area so much easier. Would absolutely stay again!" - Alexina, June 2025
"The cabin was perfect for our family trip to Maine! My two boys loved the bunk beds, the chalk wall, the games available, and the outdoor area. My parents had the entire upstairs to themselves which was perfect. We loved being on the quieter side of the island but still drivable to everything we needed. We absolutely loved this place and would stay here again and again!" - Mallory, October 2024
"We wanted a place that the kids would remember and that's exactly what we got. We all enjoyed playing cornhole, playing Maine Monopoly, and using the paddle boards and bikes. Loved being on the quiet side of Acadia yet close enough to Bar Harbor. We enjoyed the local restaurants too. It's a great place for 6 adults and 2 children." - Cindy, July 2024
"Sean & Carra have done an amazing job with their place. A group of 6 of us stayed there over Halloween weekend and were thrilled that we did. The property is beautiful and was spotless on our arrival. Great location, easy check-in and just a really cool fun place they've put together. They were great communicating everything to us and gave us all the information we needed as far as food recommendations, things to do and how to get the most out of our time there. Great value and absolutely would recommend! Thanks again guys!" - Jeff ,October 2021
"A true one of a kind gem! Every amenity you could want, beautifully styled, cozy (best sleep I have had since the birth of my daughter even with her waking up once or twice at night), great location, and the most wonderful hosts! Sean and Carra have created a cozy, seaside wonderland that we didn't want to leave! We checked into this amazing home with a sweet note and one of the best blueberry pies ever. Sean and Carra are great with their communication and are always ready to help or give great suggestions for anything you could think of while staying at their home. I am already trying to figure out the dates to come back and stay longer. Definitely do not miss an opportunity to stay at Sean and Carra beautiful home!" - Ashley, October 2021
"Lovely home with very responsive owners. Everything has been thought of.. lighting, kitchen supplies, games. It’s the ideal place for a family to stay. The house was well organized with supplies where you would expect to find them in your own home and all lighting labeled. Layout would work well for a larger family or two small families traveling together.. basically two master suites and two sets of bunk beds (one set twin size and one set king size). The decor sets this home apart from many outdated airbnbs in the area. It’s playful and vibrant and makes you feel like you’re on vacation. Highly recommend!" - Jennifer, September 2021
"We absolutely loved our stay in Sean & Carra’s home. It was spotless and wonderfully and creatively decorated. Sean & Carra clearly put so much thought into the comfort of their guests from big, soft towels; to comfy beds; to maps and other information regarding activities and restaurants; and welcome treats. The location was also perfect. Such a private area, but near the amazing town of Southwest Harbor and multiple restaurants, and an easy drive to countless hikes. We will recommend this home to friends visiting Acadia and when we come back we will stay here again. Thank you Sean & Carra!" - Carmen, August 2021
"Sean and Carra are amazing and responsive hosts and have done a fabulous job decorating and provisioning the SWH Hideaway. In a GREAT location on the quiet side of MDI, the house is decorated with lots of local flare, and easily accommodated our group of six. They offer a TON of "toys" which we put to good use - bikes (with helmets), kayaks (with life vests), even extra Acadia park maps. The fire pit and chairs as well as corn hole received daily use. Truly a hidden gem, you won't be disappointed!" - Jeremy, July 2021
"Southwest Harbor Hideaway was a great place to stay for a visit to the Maine/Bar harbor area. I came with a group of 9 friends and there was plenty of place to stay. The place was a only a short drive away from bar harbor and Acadia NP and about an hour from Schoodic Peninsula. We enjoyed cooking out on the grill and in the kitchen. The beds were super comfortable and the rooms were decorated very nicely. Each room had its own flavor and the attic was a fun place to chill, equipped with a nice record player and collection, 2 large bean bags, and a bunch of books. Sean & Carra were quick to respond to messages and very helpful throughout the trip. This was a great place to stay for our visit to Maine and we had no issues whatsoever. We highly recommend this spot 6/5 stars!" - Justin, June 2021
